Dr. John Scalia, born in Québec City and raised in Laval, is passionate about orthodontics. Dr. Scalia completed a Bachelor of Science with Great Distinction, at McGill University, in Anatomy and Cell Biology (2007). During his undergraduate experience at McGill, he was the President of Departmental Student Council and was awarded the Dean’s Honor List in the Faculty of Science.
He then pursued dental school at McGill University and earned a D.M.D. (2011). During his dental school experience, Dr. Scalia was awarded two scholarships for academic performance in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and in Pediatric Dentistry.
He then followed his passion for treating children and pursued a one-year General Practice Residency at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. His professional journey led him to Toronto for three years of Orthodontics Specialty training where he earned a Master’s of Science and successfully completed the Royal College of Dentists of Canada examinations in Orthodontics (2015).
Dr. Scalia is a proud member of the Order of Dentists of Québec (ODQ), of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), of the Canadian Association of Orthodontics (CAO), the Québec Association of Orthodontists (QAO) and of the University of Toronto Orthodontic Alumni Association.
Dr. Scalia loves playing hockey, skiing, and jogging!
