Types of Braces

At Orthoville Westmount, we take pride in helping our patients achieve beautiful and healthy smiles. Straight teeth have numerous benefits, including the ability to maintain better oral hygiene and a nicer appearance, which can really improve self-confidence. Dr. Sheldon Dorfman, Dr. John Scalia and their staff feel honored to play a part in allowing our patients to feel better about themselves. Our practice offers two types of braces in Montreal for patients that want to straighten their teeth: metal braces and clear braces. Read on to learn more about our orthodontic treatment options.

Metal Braces

Metal braces have long been the standard way of straightening teeth. While they may be traditional, our metal braces feature revolutionary technology. That’s because we use GAC In-Ovation-R, a new system of braces that is not only faster and easier for your orthodontist to use, but that can also significantly shorten treatment time. The metal brackets are also smaller than traditional metal braces, so they offer greater comfort and look better on your teeth. They also offer better hygiene than conventional braces.

Clear Braces

If you’re looking for a more discreet alternative to metal braces, our clear braces option is the perfect choice. Like our metal braces, our clear braces are made of In-Ovation-C, a self-ligating bracket that allows for more control during treatment than more traditional brackets. The advantages of our clear braces are that they are smaller in size as well as stronger and more efficient because of a built-in clip that holds the archwires in place without the need for wire or elastic ties. All this allows for greater comfort, increased overall attractiveness, and a more dependable product.
